Female UI Aspirant Emerges as the Overall Best UTME Candidate

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made public names of the top best candidates for its 2020 exam, Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In the publicized list of the top 10 best candidates, an aspirant of the premier University of Ibadan, Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes, has clinched the number one position, making her the overall best candidate for this year’s UTME.

The Board announced that the top best UTME candidates scored between 352 and 365.

The UI aspirant who is a native of Anambra state chose Industrial Production Engineering as her aspiring course of study and had a total score of 365, the highest in the 2020 UTME.

The second-best candidate, Nwobi Okwuchukwu David, who is also from Anambra state, chose to study Mechanical Engineering at the Kwara State University (KWASU), and had a total score of 363.

Other top candidates and their scores are; Ojuba Mezisashe Shalom– 359, Elikwu Victor Chukwuemeka– 359, Adebola Oluwatobi Paul– 358, Gboyega Oluwatobiloba Enoch– 356, Ojo Samuel Oluwatobi– 355, Utulu Jebose George– 355, Osom Akan Awesome– 353, Akakabota Fejiro Simeon– 352, Ogundele Favour Jesupemi– 352, Alatise Monsurah Bisola– 352, Adelaja Oluwasemilore Daniel– 352.

According to the spokesman of the Board, Fabian Benjamin, “They are 10 in number and if you notice, some of the candidates scored the same mark and they are (tied) on the same position.”

The Board had fixed 160 as the cut-off mark for universities and 120 for polytechnics accordingly, at the annual Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which was held on Tuesday in Abuja.
