The Erstwhile Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has responded to a statement credited to the former chief-whip of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adigun Abiodun Hammed ‘Murphy’ over the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.

Barrister Shittu while speaking on a radio program on Saturday questioned the credibility of the Akala-led reconciliation committee set up by Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi which comprises of 95% members of a particular group.

According to him, no reconciliation committee is set up in a way that it favours a part of the aggrieved members and he suggested Chief Bisi Akande led the APC National reconciliation committee as a replacement.

Honourable Adigun in his claim said that the Alao Akala led reconciliation committee is the best going by the former governor’s antecedents and experience.

He further expressed that, the former communication minister was never part of the leadership of the Oyo APC Unity Forum, therefore not qualified to speak on behalf of the Oyo APC Unity Forum.

Shittu who described the statement credited to Murphy as an uncouth language that does not portray proper home upbringing said he cannot be responsible for his frustration.

The response reads thus: “Abuses, insults, gutter language, gibberish, and personal attacks are the only response to my legal arguments, logical presentations and appropriate references to ARTICLE 17 and 18 of the APC CONSTITUTION in relation to the setting up of an Oyo APC Reconciliation Committee led by erstwhile Gov. Alao Akala.

“Authorisation from the leadership of UNITY FORUM or not, the use of uncouth language against me by frustrated elements within our party certainly does not portray proper home upbringing. If anyone is frustrated, I cannot be the cause of such frustration.

“Therefore, such people should not engage in transferred aggression to me. It is instructive that politicians should always have a second address. Desperate politicians must, therefore, learn to use persuasive language rather than becoming combative and violent in the language if we really want to forge a united front in APC. I pity some of our politicians”.
