The Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Student Matters, Mr. Olojede Victor has said that state government will pay Bursary to indigenes of the state this year.
In a statement made available to OYOMIND.COM.NG on Monday, 13th July 2020, the SA Students revealed that the government is already working on the modalities for the payment of the bursary.
According to Victor, the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) wrote a letter through his office to the state government over the payment of students’ bursary and other pending issues in which the governor has replied to and work is already ongoing.
“On 25th of June, 2020, the Federation of Oyo State Students Union National Body wrote a letter to the government through my office over the payment of students bursary and other pending requests which we forward a memo to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
“Governor Makinde on the 29th of June, 2020 replied through the Commissioner for Education stating that we should work on it and expedite action how students bursary will be paid.
“The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr. Olasunkanmi has also requested that my office should advise and work on how payment of bursary modalities should be.
“So I can assure the entire student populace that Bursary will be disbursed this year by God’s grace.” He said.
