In a show of compassion and commitment to humanity, the President of the Beulah Adeoye Foundation, Amofin Beulah Adeoye, has made his birthday on Wednesday, August 20, yet another remarkable one with celebrations with the famous Oluyole Cheshire Home, Sango and FOWMAN Orphanage Home, Akobo Ibadan as well as the Correctional Centre, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Oke-Ogun-born politician and legal icon, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Balogun Ridwan Fasasi, used the occasion to extend love and care to the residents of the homes and inmates at the Correctional Centre. He presented food items, essential supplies, and beverages for their sustenance.

The homes and Correctional Centre, while receiving the items and cutting of cakes, expressed profound gratitude to Amofin Adeoye for remembering the less privileged on such a personal day, describing the gesture as “a reflection of true empathy and leadership.”

Special prayer renditions were offered for the celebrant, Amofin Beulah Adeoye by the management of FOWMAN Orphanage Home.

In his message, Amofin Beulah Adeoye who is also PDP Guber Aspirant noted that birthdays are not just a time for celebration but an opportunity to touch lives positively. “My joy is complete knowing that we can put smiles on the faces of those who need our love and care the most. The welfare of the vulnerable remains a priority in my vision,” he stated. He also appreciated the care-givers for taking their time in homes.

The charity drive also reached out to the less privileges of Sabo community, Mokola, Ibadan.

On the charity drive were volunteers of the Beulah Adeoye Foundation and members of Beulah Adeoye Political Movement led by Hon. Aransi Wasiu among others.

Beulah Adeoye Foundation with its headquarters at Mokola Ibadan is known for philanthropic activities such as empowerment schemes, scholarships, feeding programs, welfarism among many other measures to better the lives of people.

This morning, August 20th began for me with the quiet joy of personal blessings—prayers and gifts at our family altar to mark my birthday. At the same time, a wider, more ancient rhythm is beating across Oyo State as we celebrate our annual Isese Day. It is a sacred moment for reflection, gratitude, and a proud reaffirmation of who we are. On this day, the wisdom of our ancestors feels close, and the timeless values of “Esin Adayeba” remind us of our origins.

To all the custodians of our tradition and adherents of the Isese faith, I extend my most heartfelt congratulations. This celebration is more than a festival; it is a living testament to our resilience and cultural pride. For generations, Isese has been a spiritual compass, preserving the harmony and balance that sustains the Yoruba people.

It feels like a beautiful stroke of providence that my birthday coincides with this year’s celebration. This personal alignment deepens my connection to the moment. A birthday invites us to reflect on where we have been and where we are going; Isese Day calls us to honor the ancestral journey that made our lives possible. Barring last minute change, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has approved September 26, for the coronation of Oba Rasidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan.

The day was chosen after a meeting between the governor and the former governor which held at the Ondo Street Bodija residence of the monarch.

It is the first time the governor is visiting the monarch since his (Ladoja) return to Ibadan.

A former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bayo Oyero will be the Chairman of the Coronation Committee.

The Yoruba Heritage Forum has issued a stern warning to the Alaáfin of Ọ̀yọ́, Oba Abimbola Owoade, over what it described as attempts to distort Yoruba history and reignite traditional rivalries, particularly concerning the spiritual and cultural status of the Ooni of Ifẹ̀, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

The warning follows reports that the Alaafin allegedly issued an ultimatum to the Ooni regarding the conferment of a chieftaincy title on prominent businessman Chief Dotun Sanusi.

In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Olufemi Aduwo, the Forum described the Alaafin’s actions as “legally baseless and historically unsustainable,” stressing that no valid court ruling grants the Alaafin supremacy over the Ooni in matters of traditional authority.

“Any reliance on such a phantom judgment constitutes a grave error and distortion of Yoruba history,” Aduwo stated.

He further explained that while the Ọ̀yọ́ Empire wielded significant influence during certain historical periods, it neither encompassed the entirety of Yorùbáland nor exercised spiritual or cultural supremacy over it.
Citing historical and colonial records, Aduwo reaffirmed that the Ooni of Ifẹ̀ remains the spiritual father of the Yoruba people, a position that transcends geography and politics. He referenced key texts such as Samuel Johnson’s The History of the Yorubas (1921) and British colonial intelligence reports, which consistently recognised Ifẹ̀ as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation and the Ooni as the custodian of its heritage.

“Traditional authority in Yorubaland is not coterminous with modern local government areas,” Aduwo said.

“The Ooni’s position is not merely that of a local king in Ifẹ̀, but a symbolic and spiritual figure whose relevance extends across the Yoruba world.”

The Forum also downplayed the reach of titles conferred by the Alaafin, including the historically revered but now largely ceremonial title of Ààrẹ Ọ̀nà Kakanfò, stressing that such honours carry no authority beyond Ọ̀yọ́ and its immediate surroundings.
Issuing a direct caution to Oba Owoade, Aduwo declared:

“The Alaafin is firmly advised to desist from issuing childish threats or attempting to re-ignite dormant rivalries. The Yoruba nation, already burdened by insecurity and economic instability, cannot afford another crisis over chieftaincy politics.”

He concluded by affirming that any attempt to provoke unrest under the guise of traditional supremacy would be resisted, both through legal channels and by the collective will of the Yoruba people.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has ignored the 48-hour issued him by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade to revoke the Okanlomo of Yorubaland title conferred on business tycoon, Dotun Sanusi.

Ooni’s media aide, Moses Olafare disclosed this on his Facebook page early Tuesday morning.

Olafare, who described the Alaafin’s ultimatum as “the Empty Threat of the Alawada Babasala”, however said the Ooni had directed him not to respond to the statement by the Oyo monarch on the Okanlomo chieftaincy crisis.

“We cannot dignify the undignifiable with an official response,” Ooni’s spokesman added, saying, “we leave the matter to be handled in the public court of opinion as it is already being treated.”

Olafare wrote on his Facebook page, “My Principal has directed me against issuing a Press Release on the Empty Threat of the Alawada Babasala.

“I beg to disappoint you gentlemen of the press.

“We cannot dignify the undignified with an official response. We leave the matter to be handled in the public court of opinion as it is already being treated.

“Let’s rather focus on narratives that unite us rather than the ones capable of dividing us.

“48 Hours My Foot!!!”

On Monday, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade had given the Ooni of Ife a 48-hour ultimatum to revoke the title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland he the Ife monarch had conferred on businessman, Dotun Sanusi.

The Oyo monarch had described the action of the Ooni as an affront to his authority, warning him of some consequences.

The Alaafin had in a statement issued by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, expressed strong concerns over the alleged conferment of the chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland on the matter.

The Oyo monarch had also stressed that only the Oyo monarch holds the exclusive right to confer titles that cover the entire Yorubaland.

The Alaafin had further stated that the Ooni’s traditional jurisdiction is confined to Oranmiyan Local Government—now divided into Ife Central, Ife North, and Ife South—making the conferment of a title with pan-Yoruba relevance beyond his authority.

Following the defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election, a party chieftain, Aiyekooto Akindele, has dropped a veiled comment on the state of the party in Oyo.

Though he did not mention the election directly, Akindele in a statement on Monday on his Facebook page warned that APC risks further losses if the lingering divisions within the fold remain unresolved.

He recalled how the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi was able to hold the progressives together in 2011 and 2015, using the opposition’s internal cracks to the party’s advantage. According to him, the same unity and discipline have been missing in recent years, which has weakened the APC in Oyo State.

“Ajimobi used the division in the opposition, especially Akala and Ladoja, to rescue us in 2011 and again in 2015. But in 2019, when our people turned against him during the senatorial election, they did not know they were digging a pit for themselves. That was how we lost Oyo in 2019,” he said.

The chieftain further stated that without broad reconciliation convened by the Presidency or a political understanding with Governor Seyi Makinde, APC would find it difficult to return to power in Oyo.

He, however, expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s popularity, stressing that the President’s hold on the state remains unshaken ahead of 2027.
