It’s sad that Makinde, who promised to deliver the Oyo State surveillance jet over a month ago, has still not delivered it. At this point, indigenes of Oyo State are in doubt, as there has been no confirmation of the purchase of the surveillance jet. For over 11 months, Makinde said the surveillance jet was in Lagos Air Force base Immediately after the abduction of the teachers and pupils, he said the jet would be delivered by the end of June. Here we are in July, and nothing has been delivered. We believe it’s all lies.
We believe that while lies may prevail for years, one day the truth will catch up. Makinde continues to deflect from serious issues and accountability in the state, from the ₦30 billion support fund for the Bodija bomb explosion to this surveillance jet that is taking forever to be delivered.
When it comes to insecurity, people need to be briefed at all times. They need to be aware of the situation and any probable changes. But the Agodi emperor believes he can hold the state to ransom. He believes he is a second god who controls the state and dictates what people should believe. People are now fully aware of his lies and propaganda.
True leadership is built on trust and accountability, but it is sad that Makinde has lost the people’s trust and lacks the accountability needed to lead the state through its current security dilemma. We will continue to hold Makinde accountable and expose his lies to the good people of Oyo State.
We in Oyo State state categorically that the Makinde government should provide the surveillance jet within seven days or face mass resistance, or he should resign completely. He has shown that he is not a trustworthy person, is incompetent, and lacks integrity. Makinde should provide the jet within seven days or face mass resistance, or he should resign.
