It is Unfair to Compare Ajimobi’s Eight Years With Makinde’s One Year – Adebayo Adelabu

The All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate at the 2019 governorship election in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has pronounced to be unfair the comparison of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration of eight years with the current Governor Seyi Makinde’s of one year.

He made this known while on a live programme in Ibadan where he was invited as a special guest to address issues on the COVID-19 pandemic and politics in the state, a year after he lost to Eng. Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

As he appealed to those carrying rumours of Sen. Ajimobi’s death, and wished him quick recovery, he reiterated that Abiola Ajimobi served the people of Oyo state with all he had for eight years. Hence, the need to wish him well.

Giving justification for the need to advise the incumbent administration on what they’ve left undone after one year, Chief Adebayo Adelabu posited that the development of the state is the responsibility of every stakeholder.

He said: ” I am not here to condemn the activities of the government and I’m not here to start comparing the administration of Ajimobi of eight years with that of Governor Seyi Makinde that is just one year old, this will be very very unfair.

” what I owe the state as a bonafide stakeholder of this state is to point the attention of the government to areas that would need improvement.

“Even if they haven’t met our expectations in the last one year, they have three more years to go. If we keep quiet, I don’t think we are doing ourselves any good.

“If the state doesn’t perform, my businesses will not perform, my families, friends and loved ones will not have money. So it’s actually my wish to see the state blossoming as it is the only way to benefit from the state. “
