Gbagi Traders Accuse Makinde’s Ally, Oyo Trade Commissioner of Illegal Demolition of Market Stores

A trader at Gbagi Market, Engr Kola Oyewole has said that Governor Makinde is not doing what he promised them when campaigning for his second term in office.

while featuring on a radio program ‘Lagbo Oselu with Abolade Salami.

Oyo state Engr. Seyi Makinde promised that the market would not be sold or demolished so it was a surprise seeing the commissioner for trade, commerce, and investment Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi coming with hoodlums to the market.

It was said that Makinde’s All is also among the master minders behind the demolition of various stores in Gbagi market in Ibadan.

During the radio show in Ibadan Engr. Oyewole who is one of the stakeholders in the market stated that he is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state and lamented that this demolition is Illegal because they were not been given any notification so far, he stated that they just saw the commissioner for commerce in Oyo state bringing in hoodlums along to the market to beat up anybody hindering the demolition.

Engr. Oyewole then stated that this popular market has been there for decades he exuberated that different governments have been there and there is a reason for not taking them out of there, he added that no alternative place has been given to them to use and not that they want to build another market for them.

He finally stated that Governor Seyi Makinde is not aware of this development, he pleaded that the governor should call the master minder of this development to order before it gets worse in the city.
