Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has promised to unveil the next Olubadan of Ibadan on Monday, 14th February 2022.
Makinde made this statement at the 40-day funeral reception organized by the state government for the late Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1.
OYOMIND recalls that the late Oba Adetunji died on 2nd January, 2022 and the stool has been left vacant since then.
Makinde said, “I have received a letter from the Olubadan-in-Council.
“By the grace of God, I will announce the new Olubadan of Ibadan land on Monday.
“Today that we are organizing the 40-day remembrance of the immediate past Olubadan, we have already known the next king.
“Ibadan is not like other towns that will take them more than seven years before they can have a king after the demise of one.
“Ibadan traditional system is one that everyone is looking up to emulate”.
