As Nigeria celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary, the APC Ibadan Northwest /Southwest Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo has called for renewed commitment to nation-building while seeking the continued support of residents of the Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olunloyo-Oshinowo, a former representative of the constituency and the APC candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election, made the call in an Independence Day message released by her media and Communications team to Nigerians and constituents.
She described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey since independence and recommit to building a country where citizens, particularly young people and women, have greater opportunities to contribute and prosper.
The former federal lawmaker acknowledged the resilience of Nigerians and stressed the importance of purposeful leadership, responsive representation and stronger community-focused development.
Speaking specifically to the people of Ibadan Northwest and Ibadan Southwest, Olunloyo-Oshinowo expressed appreciation for the trust and support she has received from constituents over the years.
She appealed to residents of the constituency to once again support her aspiration to return to the House of Representatives, pledging to build on her previous experience and remain accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
Her campaign, she said, will continue to focus on people-centred representation, opportunities for young people, women empowerment, community development and effective legislative advocacy.
Olunloyo-Oshinowo urged constituents to see the 2027 election as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the people and their representative, while assuring them of her commitment to service and inclusive representation.
She also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful about the future of the country and contribute positively to its development.
The APC candidate congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary and wished the nation continued peace, progress and prosperity.
