A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mogaji Oloye Abiola Oyeyemi, has joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), in a fresh political realignment ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Oyeyemi’s movement to the APM became evident following his appearance among the entourage of the APM governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, during a consultation with Muslim leaders in Ibadan.
The development was disclosed in a Facebook post by Alhaji Akeem Azeez, Personal Assistant to the Oyo State Governor who shared details of Adekambi’s engagement with the Muslim community.
According to the post, the APM governorship candidate visited the Bodija and Environs Muslim Community Islamic Centre, Housing, Ibadan, as part of his consultations with religious centres and organisations.

Adekambi addressed Muslim faithful after special prayers led by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheik AbdulAkeem Afuye, and Prof. K.K. Oloso, whom the candidate described as a father figure.
Oyeyemi was listed among members of Adekambi’s entourage during the visit, alongside several prominent figures associated with the Oyo political landscape.
Those listed included the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Tunji Babatunde; Commissioner for Trade, Prof. Soliu Adelabu; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Ajoke Sanni; Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe; Personal Assistant to the Governor, Alhaji Akeem Azeez; Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs, Imam Abdulrasheed Wale Azeez; member of the State Campaign Council, Alhaji Kazeem Bolarinwa Ibadanpride, as well as members of Muslims for Seyi Bimbo, led by Dr Adams Akewula.
Also mentioned in the entourage were Mogaji Oloye Abiola Oyeyemi and Mogaji Moshood Gbolagade Akere, among others.
The Facebook post, published by the governor’s personal assistant, provides the latest indication of Oyeyemi’s association with the APM campaign.
