The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibraheem Iyiola, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the successful rescue and release of the teachers and students who were abducted during the recent attack on a school in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Iyiola described the development as a major victory for the nation’s security agencies and a testament to President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.

He expressed gratitude to the President for ensuring that the relevant security agencies remained resolute in securing the freedom of the victims, despite the challenges surrounding the operation.

“The safe return of the abducted teachers and students has brought relief to their families, the people of Oyo State, and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians. I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast leadership and determination in prioritising the safety of citizens,” he said.

The APC House of Representatives candidate also applauded the efforts of the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilantes, and other security operatives whose coordinated efforts led to the successful rescue of the victims.

According to him, the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration in addressing insecurity and restoring public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.

Iyiola urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence capable of preventing criminal activities, stressing that security remains a collective responsibility.

He further prayed for the speedy recovery of the rescued teachers and students, expressing hope that they would soon overcome the trauma of their ordeal and reunite fully with their families and communities.

Hon. Iyiola reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and legislative initiatives that would strengthen Nigeria’s security system, improve the welfare of security personnel, and ensure that communities across the country remain safe and peaceful.

He noted that the successful rescue operation serves as renewed hope that, through purposeful leadership and sustained collaboration, Nigeria can overcome the challenges of insecurity and guarantee a safer future for all citizens.
