Over 9,000 people in Oyo State have been pencilled down to benefit from the Federal Government ‘Survival Funds’ as part of efforts to make life meaningful for citizens.

Speaking on the fund, the coordinator of the programme in the state, Mr Tomilola Oladele, said the project was designed by FG to assist Nigerians particularly artisans and transporters in all states of the federation to reduce the effect of the covid-19 pandemic on the nation’s economy.

He said they have discovered the effect of the covid-19 pandemic on Nigeria’s economy and the Federal Government has decided to give a grant of N30,000 each to 4,500 artisans and 4,500 transporters in Oyo State.

While informing the beneficiaries to expect to get a grant of N30,000 as soon as data from Bank of Industry (BOI) is ready, he said that the money was not a loan and therefore not non refundable.

He however urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously, charging them to count it as a privilege because not everybody benefited from the grant.

The manager of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in Oyo State, Mrs. Mabel Ojogbede while thanking the Federal government for the gesture, urged that the money should be spread in order to get across to affected people.
