Honourable Tolu Akande Sadipe, Member House of Representatives, representing Oluyole Federal Constituency has responded to the misinformation by her predecessor, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi over the execution of a project which he claimed to be his achievement.

Honourable Tolu-Sadipe in a statement made available to the press expressed her disappointment over an unnecessary allegation of the former law maker, someone who is supposed to know better than to make the claim he has circulated.
“Let me say without any apology that Hon. Olugbemi is still suffering from the shock of the loss of the general election, more so to a woman.

As a well-exposed person that I presume he is, I am surprised that he could come out to lay claim to projects he didn’t commence before he left office. The project belongs to Oluyole and I have every right to celebrate its commencement.

“As a lawmaker who has always put the interest of the constituents first, I again commit to ensuring that everything whether past or present, that belongs to the constituency gets down to the grassroot across the constituency.

“The claimed legacy he is talking about is a capital project from the 2019 Appropriations which unlike the Zonal intervention Programs he could not divert to Ondo State for his selfish interest.

“When I assumed office as the representative of this constituency, there was no single ZIP listed for Oluyole Constituency. It took the intelligence and intervention of my team and I to go through the thousands of pages of the 2019 Appropriation to trace these projects to where he had diverted and hidden them.

This prompted me to raise an alarm to the Leadership of the National Assembly.

To substantiate and authenticate this statement, attached are the relevant public
appropriation documents.

Why the tantrums. If he loved Oluyole so much, why did he try to steal Oluyole’s Zonal Intervention Projects by hiding them under Ondo State” as follows:

1. Workshop on agricultural product conformity assessment and certification. I.E EC, ISO, NOP, JAS regulations in ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.
2. Capacity building and empowerment of farmers on organic agricultural system’ production, processing and certification in ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.
3. Provision of solar panel borehole at Olunde community zone 4. ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.
4. Provision of solar panel borehole at Afenifere Olukade Community Ayetoro Egbeda Atuba, ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.
5. Extension of solar street light for Ologede Community, New Garage, ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.

When did Ologede, New Garage become part of ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.

When did Ayetoro Egbeda Tuba become part of ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.

When did Olunde Community Zone 4 become part of ESEODO/ ILAJE ONDO STATE.

Olugbemi cannot claim a defence in saying these where typographical errors.

“May I also use this medium to also ask him about the Medical Outreach for Women and Young Adults in Oluyole Federal Constituency, which was domiciled at UCH? When was this executed that led to the release of funds by UCH. What has become of this ZIP.

“His ranting would only get him into trouble as it will bring his failure to deliver on constituency projects during his tenure to the attention of ICPC”.

He should stop spitting gibberish, I have every authority as the current MHR Oluyole to bring to the attention of the people of the constituency, the start of a much needed project that will alleviate their suffering.

A project that I had gotten, assessed and approved during my tenor in the Administration of Gov. Ajimobi but for the end of the tenor and change of party with their own priorities, which cut short the reality.

As the MHR Oluyole, He should stop distracting me and allow me to focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people I am representing.

Monitoring to ensure that the project will become a reality, under FERMA and sharing the start of it has in no way encroached on his tenure.

He should stop ranting like a jilted husband, no one has stolen anything from him, but he is the one that has been stopped from stealing from Oluyole.

What sins could our lecturers have committed that they deserved to be punished with starvation?

The saga of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) which is the major factor that makes the government continue starving the lecturers supposed to be lifted for now.

COVID-19 is here, the government ordered the closure of all institutions and the on going negotiations for solving the issue of the (IPPIS) has been suspended.

The professors, doctors and other academists of the Universities are not cared for despite the occurrence of the Pandemic and the hardship that partnered it.

Two months salary, they haven’t received, how would they go about putting food on their table? How would they cater for their ow family? There is lockdown here and there and no enough palliative measures is put in place.

I wonder what they will be surviving with, they get stipends as salary yet, the government refused to pay.

However, I might not decipher the nitty-gritty of the duel between Government and ASUU, but I’m just trying to be humane and I’m urging the government to be humane as well.

On a final note, the government should put aside what the matter is and consider paying the salaries of the ASUU members. It would be a disaster to add HUNGVID-20 to COVID-19.

It is no more a joke that Ibadan is experiencing different cases of robbery at the moment. Almost every week (if not everyday), people in Ibadan are witnessing high rate of robbery among others, consistently for over 6 months, especially recently in these areas- Apata, Olunde, Oke-odo, Apete, Moniya, Challenge, Odo ona, Ajibode, Mokola, and just yesterday Iwo Road down to Old Ife road. It has now gotten to a point of ‘where and when’ next will robbery take place.

Though, robbery had been taking place for a long time in every part of Oyo State before commencement of this administration, but one expects the rate at which it occurs, reduces sporadically under the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde. The major responsibility of a government is to safeguard lives and properties of citizens. And being the Chief Security Officer of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has a lot of genuine and decisive decisions to take, to curb a threat robbery poses to our wellbeing.

Recall that Lagos State Government has already banned riding of okada and tricycle in their state, meaning majority of Okada and Tricycle riders who formerly resided in Lagos would have trooped into other southwestern states, especially a big place like Ibadan. Also joined with the issue compulsory stay at home as a result of covid-19 pandemic, which makes businesses to be folding up; high crime rate especially robbery has been predicted to occur.

It is unfortunate that this is still happening at a time of covid-19 pandemic, when majority of people are struggling to cope with feeding and survival; when people are not free to go about their various businesses because of fear of contracting or spreading covid-19, and yet they can’t comfortably sleep in their respective homes for fear of being robbed.

If Ibadan, being the capital and seat of government, can be this vulnerable to robbery, what is then the hope of people in Ogbomosho, Oyo, Oke-ogun and Ibarapa?

This is a call on governor Seyi Makinde to deploy every security machinery to curb the menace of robbery. It is time to secure Oyo State the more. If people are told to stay at home, then they must be protected from robbers. Poverty and pandemic are ravaging our land at the same time. Government needs to tighten security and then roll out palliatives to relieve suffering masses from the hardship posed by covid-19 pandemic.

A popular gang leader in Ibadan, Moshood Oladokun has been confirmed dead having been attacked by a group of a gang led by a man called Ebila.

Ekugbemi has fondly called by many was attacked at the Olunde-Olomi side on Saturday where he was brutally macheted.

Oyomind.com.ng recalled that Moshood was taken to Hand of God Clinic at Olomi where he was confirmed dead before they took him to his father’s shrine for resurrection.

According to an eye witness, Moshood was said to have lost too much blood which makes is survival doubtful even after the resurrection.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, he was confirmed dead as a result of too much blood he had lost and will be buried today at Ita-Ekerin, Ile-Iponriku, Ibadan.

A popular gang leader in Ibadan, Moshood Oladokun was said to have been murdered and later resurrected a few hours later.

Moshood who is fondly called Ekugbemi was macheted by some group of the gang around the Olomi-Olunde area in Ibadan.

According to an eye witness who spoke to oyomind.com.ng and pleaded anonymity said he was confirmed dead but got resurrected after being taken to his father’s shrine.

He said “We are all indoor when the news got to us that Moshood has been murdered. He was called that some hoodlums were beating his wife around the Olomi-Olunde area. He got to the venue and seized two motorcycles brought by those hoodlums which he planned taking to the police station.

“On his way to the police station, he was attacked with axes and cutlasses by ‘Ebila led One Million Boys gang’. There, he was confirmed dead in a pool of blood.

“Before he was taken to his father’s shrine, we all confirmed his death. At the shrine, one of his father’s friends came with a hen and started some incarnations. He dropped the hen and Moshood sneezed out while the hen died immediately.

“He has lost a lot of blood from the attack and we can only hope that he survived.”

The flurry and flicker of pandemic coronavirus has resulted in federal, state and local officials declaring a state of emergency to allows them to wield additional powers in an effort to promoting public safety and curb the severity of the outbreak.

The result has been varying degrees of life-distintegrating events such as curfew, quarantines, shuttered businesses, border, and school closures.

The basis for measures to this pandemic disease, COVID-19 is currently being taken in places like Lagos State, Ogun State, Osun State, etc., where curfew is actually observed not partial curfew, the daily life activity has been dramatically altered. The Governors of these states where curfew is really observed have imposed “shelter in place” which means people must remain at home except for tasks such as grocery shopping, getting medical treatment, caring for other people, and fumigating of their environment with all the measures putting in active, the states are still recording new cases of infected COVID-19.

I salute the courage of our able Governor, His Excellence, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his dynamism leadership style, using module of taking decision of engineer which always based on logic and facts in paddle his administration and I also commend him for all necessary measures the Oyo State government has been putting in place to curb the spreading of this pandemic diseases in our dear pacesetter.

It is however believed that your good people of Oyo State are highly gratified and tickled to see you come back quickly from the dreaded disease COVID-19.

However, you resumed office as the head of our dear pacesetter and head of state’s COVID-19 taskforce after recovery from the virus, there need for reappraisal, retrospection, check and balance on your pike of operation and measures in tackling the spreading of this pandemic diseases and most especially on the issue of PARTIAL CURFEW and your suggested of Czech Republic style of fighting the disease.

Noteworthy, over days you’re on self isolation and handed over the Oyo State Covid-19 Task force to Prof Temitope Alonge, a former UCH medical director there is no significance on the curbing of spreading of the disease till date. In fact, As at 09:30 pm 10th April, there are 305 confirmed cases 58, discharged, 7 deaths, Lagos- 163, FCT- 56, Osun- 20, Edo- 12, Oyo- 11, Bauchi- 6, Akwa, Ibom- 5, Ogun- 7, Kaduna- 6, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Kwara- 2
Delta- 2, Benue- 1, Ondo- 2, Katsina-4, Niger- 1 and
Anambra- 1

It’s on this note I would warp my questions on, for the need to review the feedbacks of all the boulevard of operation and measures you’re exploiting to fight against the deadly disease. Of what magnitude is this partial curfew affect the coverlet of this pandemic disease CONVID-19 in Oyo State? Even, considering the rate and total number of infected people in the states where they goose-step to total lockdown. More so, is there a significance in this partial curfew and total lockdown on the daily life activities of the people of Oyo State? If there is no denotation, I would advice His Excellence to use proper leadership style once to home free your good people of Oyo State, we your people know you as a man of humanity, serve a brief stint as a waiter to scrimmage with the spreading of this pandemic diseases COVID-19 now.

Even, when we embark on fumigation, could it be done during the night or when? What are the palliative you have for your civil servants who had wholly finished their March salary while at home because only who are closed to political party or politicians are beneficial of their alms as relief.

In conclusion, His Excellence should consider the depth of its sobriety impact on humanity and economic of the state. As the flogger, of coronavirus continues to threaten humans, the famishment and munchies is also not exclusive in menacing us.

The ravaging scourge and pandemic, Coronavirus, with its acronym, Covid-19 has captured the world and left many countries changing its structures and activities. As a measure to tackle the lockdown measures put in place by many head officials, three post graduate students of the university came together to create a small hub for the teaching and learning of English Language.

For these ones, the utmost importance of establishing this virtual community is basically to bring in scholars, experts (of English in various departments) and learners together for the purpose of learning. For the initiator, Ikeoluwapo B. Baruwa, ‘the coalescence of ivory tower and outside world would adequately aid and sharpen the thoughts of teachers, especially in the classroom setting and in their articulation of words and tenses in various write-ups’.

Presently, English Language Hub has mathematicians, scientists, speakers and other distinguished members from various faculties and ministries. The idea of using ‘hub’ originated from the basis of seeing the platform as central and most important learning space where discussions regarding English Language could be shared. Instead of using ‘forum’, ‘hub’ came as a pivotal replacement.

Though the platform kicked off 10th of Jan, 2020, it gained its momentum recently, as a means to keeping these researchers and academics busy and more informed. Further, the platform is yet limited to WhatsApp, but the organiser (Ikeoluwapo B. Baruwa) and administrators (Oluwadamilare Peter Jegede and Oluwatosin Aluko) are interested in taking the platform a bit higher.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS

I. Ikeoluwapo B. Baruwa is a young researcher; an aspiring PhD candidate with interest in Language, Ethics, Diversity, Literacy, Epistemology, and strong background in Adult Education as well as Philosophy of Education. He has authored and coauthored papers with senior colleagues in and outside his field, coupled with in-progress articles. Ikeoluwapo was actively involved as one of the scientific members for the recently concluded Alexander Von Humboldt Conference, held at the University of Ibadan, between 11th and 14th February, 2020.

II. Oluwadamilare P. JEGEDE is an E-learning Developer with a history of working in the e-learning industry. Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Instructional Design, Technical assistance and the like. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

III. Oluwatosin Aluko is a budding scholar who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy of Education from the University of Ibadan, with interest in Identity Education. Also, he has a number of journal articles to his name and he has participated in some social responsibility/community development projects

Oyo State Government as part of her effort to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus is putting up plan to make the wearing of masks in public compulsory.

This is contained in a press briefing made by the Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde through his offical twitter handle on Wednesday night.

Makinde who just assumed back his position as the Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force having recovered from coronavirus positive test which later came out negative after two consecutive tests.

The governor briefed that his government is on a lookout on a home-grown solutions to deal with COVID-19.

“We will roll out palliatives for the poorest of the poor within a week.
We are also working on a law to make the wearing of masks in public compulsory, as one of the measures to slow down the spread of the virus.

“Finally, we’re also looking at local solutions to boost immunity based on expert opinion, as part of home-grown solutions to deal with COVID-19.

“We appreciate those who’ve donated to the State Endowment Fund for COVID-19. We’ve received nearly N200M in cash & various food items” He said.
