Oyo State Governor orders Demolition of Detention Camp

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde today ordered the demolition of the recent discovered detention camp at Ojoo, Ibadan.The Governor made the pronouncement during a visit to the Oloore Central Mosque, Ojoo where over 200 detainees were released on Monday. He also vowed to prosecute all those behind the heinous acting, adding that it was wrong for certain individuals to have used a mosque as a cover-up for crime and criminalities.He said, “What we have seen is something that we all have to condemn and this shouldn’t be happening in a modern environment. You can’t use a mosque as façade to perpetrate this kind of evil. “Yes we have marked the entire structure for demolition, we have here the ministry of lands and urban planning and ministry of health and justice. The government will do everything that is humanly possible to ensure that this kind of thing is stamped out in our environment.You would recalled that OYOMIND.COM.NG reported earlier today that this house of horror was detected yesterday after state police command had been hint by a 17year old boy who claimed to have escaped from one of the facilities located at Apata area of the state which had been evacuated before the police team got there but later told them of the existence of another facility located at Ojoo area. Governor Makinde after the pronouncement led a team of the government functionaries to the camp where freed victims are being rehabilitated by the government.
