The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Senator Teslim Folarin as the Coordinator and Collation Officer for Oyo State ahead of its 2026 presidential primaries.
The appointment was contained in an official document released by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, detailing procedures and key officials for the conduct of the primaries across the country.
According to the document, the APC will adopt a direct primary mode, allowing all registered party members to vote for their preferred presidential aspirants across the 8,809 wards nationwide. The process will involve ward-level voting, with results collated at local government levels before final submission at the national collation centre.
Folarin, a former Senate Leader and the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the party in Oyo State, is among several high-profile party members assigned to oversee the exercise in different states. His role will involve coordinating the primary process within the state and ensuring accurate collation and transmission of results.
The party also constituted both the Presidential Primary Election Committee and the Appeal Committee to supervise the exercise and address any disputes arising from the process.
The development signals the APC’s formal kick-off of activities leading to its presidential primaries, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
