Chief Ahmed Ajibola, popularly known as General H, has resigned from the City Boy Movement, ending his tenure as the Oyo State Coordinator of the pro-President Bola Tinubu support group.
In a resignation letter addressed to the national leadership of the movement, Ajibola expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as Oyo State Coordinator as both an honour and a privilege.
He disclosed that following his removal from office, he was offered two new appointments—Coordinator, Directorate Affairs at the state level and Coordinator, Stakeholder Engagement for the South-West region—but declined both positions after what he described as careful consideration.
Ajibola said his decision to resign was driven by principle rather than personal grievances.
According to him, leadership should be founded on fairness, loyalty, transparency, competence and mutual respect, adding that recent developments within the Oyo State chapter had made it impossible for him to continue in good conscience.
While maintaining respect for the national leadership of the organisation, he expressed disappointment with the direction of the movement in Oyo State, particularly under the newly appointed leadership.
He stated that some recent actions and decisions within the state chapter had fallen short of the values that inspired many members to dedicate their time, energy and resources to the movement.
Despite resigning from the organisation, Ajibola reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged to continue supporting the administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“My resignation from the City Boy Movement does not in any way diminish my support, admiration and loyalty to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I remain committed to promoting the achievements of his administration and contributing in every way within my capacity towards his re-election in 2027,” he wrote.
Ajibola also thanked members of the movement across Oyo State for their loyalty, commitment and sacrifice during his time as coordinator, saying he remains proud of their collective achievements.
He concluded by wishing the City Boy Movement success in its future endeavours.
Ajibola was appointed Oyo State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement earlier in 2026 and had been actively involved in grassroots mobilisation for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign in the state.
