A legal practitioner and APC chieftain, Barr. (Prince) Abioye Asatayo Oloyede-Asanike, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat representing Ibadan South-East Constituency I under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oloyede-Asanike, who is the grandson of former Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Yesufu Oloyede Asanike, said his decision to join the race was driven by a desire to deepen grassroots development and provide quality representation for the people of the constituency.
Speaking during consultations with party stakeholders and supporters in Ibadan, the aspirant said he had over the years demonstrated commitment to community development through various empowerment programmes, educational support initiatives and humanitarian interventions across Ibadan South-East Local Government.
According to him, his ambition is rooted in service, accessibility and a determination to contribute meaningfully to legislative development in Oyo State.
“I have consistently supported my local government through empowerment initiatives, distribution of educational materials and scholarship opportunities for students. We have also provided food support for vulnerable residents and extended assistance to victims affected by the Bodija explosion tragedy,” he said.
The APC aspirant noted that the experience gathered from years of community engagement and legal practice would help him deliver effective representation if elected into the state assembly.
Residents and supporters at the gathering described Oloyede-Asanike as a grassroots politician with strong ties to the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland.
Oloyede-Asanike pledged to prioritise youth empowerment, education, community security, economic opportunities and improved welfare for constituents if given the mandate to represent them at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He also called on APC members and residents of Ibadan South-East Constituency I to support what he described as a collective movement aimed at delivering purposeful and people-oriented representation.
