Oyo State House of Assembly Hopeful, Babatunde Obideji has make his intention to contest in the 2023 general election to the party stakeholders in Lagelu Local Government.
Obideji made this declaration on Wednesday, 9th February, 2023 in the presence of the party stalwarts which cut across elders, leaders, local government executives and all ward chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the constituency.
Speaking during the declaration, Obideji expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome received from the party stakeholders, adding that it is evidence that the agenda is acceptable by all and sundry.
According to him, several consultations have been made in the past few months to ensure that this project is on the right track in which the turnout and feedback have been very impressive.
“It has always been my desire to make things happen by providing undiluted humanity service and ensuring that my people are not deprived of a dividend of democracy at any point in time. The time is now to take the bull by its horn.
“In the past few months, I have commenced massive consultation with our party leaders and members to intimate them of my plans to contest in the forthcoming 2023 general election. I cannot deny the general acceptability” he said.
Obideji further stressed that he has been a committed party member who initiated the voter’s registration party members across the local government and award of scholarships to boost educational development on the constituency.
“Coming to serve my people wholeheartedly is something I have been craving for and I believe the time is ripe to represent our interest as member, Oyo State House of Assembly from Lagelu constituency.
“I want to thank our great leaders, elder, and party executives for building solid party structures in the constituency, and also for your warm acceptance. This is the beginning of our road to success in the forthcoming election and I believed we are ready for success” he concluded.
Corroborating the good work of Honourable Obideji, the party youth leader emphasized that is a lover of youth and he has always been providing Financial Support for the youth most especially in the sporting area.
The league of elders while responding commended him for all he has done for the constituency, saying that his good work will speaks for him as they all have been hearing about his effort in the constituency while they all wish him success in the race.
Present at the declaration are the local government chairman, Hon Gbadamosi Adeyemi Kazeem with his executives, all ward chairmen, and the elders include Baba Ewikunle, Baba Kenfab, Baba Ayobami Goldsmith, Baba white, Baba Odeleye, Elder Odeyemi, Iya Aladuke state, Baba Adegoke Agbasaga of Lagelu land, Baba Soye.
Others include, Hon Olaniyan Olawale, Special Assistant to the executive Chairman, Lagelu local government, Senator Kamorudeen the assistant general secretary of local government, supervising councilor for health in the person of Hon Adewole Olarenwaju.
