Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has been directed by the Supreme Court to pay full salaries of the sacked Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State.
The judgement which took place at the Apex Court in Abuja on Friday, 7th May, 2021 declared the dissolution of the council chairmen illegal.
OYOMIND recalls that Governot Makinde upon his assumption into office ordered the dissolution of the council chairmen through his Chief of Staffs, Chief Bisi Ilaka.
Supreme Court then ruled that the dissolution of the elected LG chairmen on May 23, 2019 is contemptuous.
The Attorney General of the state has been ordered to ensure compliance by the state government with a deadline of August 2021.
