Ibadan Youth Council Roots for Waheed Ekun, Says CCII Needs A Social, Influential President-General

A social-cultural youth organization in Ibadan; Ibadan Youth Council (IYC), has thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Chief Waheed Ekun (Agbaakin Maiyegun of Ibadanland) as their candidate for the coming Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) election coming up on Friday 2nd April 2021.
The group in their unanimous decision endorsed Chief Waheed Ekun and noted that “Chief Waheed Ekun has for a very long time been in the forefront of developing Ibadanland and promoting the cultural integrity of the city. And also, he has never relented in uplift numerous numbers of youths that come his way in the area of human capital development, empowerment and helping look for employment opportunities where there are vacancies in both public and private establishment of the society.”

“He has for years been bringing on the intellectual table of the CCII his vast and wide experiences in public administration and developmental programs that will put Ibadan forward, and advance the popularity and respect enjoyed by the city. Also, he has been one of the major instruments that raised the bar of the CCII to become a more celebrated socio-cultural group in Yorubaland, Nigeria and at the global community.”

“Chief Ekun in his capacity as a thoroughbred intellectual and socialite has been a contributor to the development and advancement of the CCII scholarship program, and that is to tell of his interest in the educational development of Ibadan indigenes. One reason why he was honored and awarded by the Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU) National Council.”

“With his as the President-General of the CCII, Ibadan is posed to be witnessing and experiencing more glorification of the land through arrays of developmental programs aiming to consolidate the developmental agenda of the CCII and Oyo State Government.”

“We enjoin all 88 accredited clubs delegates to vote for Chief Waheed Ekun, not only that he is qualified and being the best man for the office of President-General of CCII, an umbrella club for all social, cultural, and business faces of Ibadanland but his open-door policy, youth-friendly, socially inclined, native intelligent, approachable, visionary, achievement-oriented and his connection and relationship with government institutions at both the federal and state level of government that will certainly pay off for the association.”

The CCII General Election will be coming up on Friday 2nd April, 2021.
