The City Boy Movement in Oyo State has strengthened its mobilisation structure ahead of the 2027 general elections with the appointment of the Oyo State Market Youth Leader, Abidemi Adetunji, as its Director of Market Youth Mobilization.
The appointment was announced on Tuesday, September 2, 2026, during a strategic meeting between the leadership of the City Boy Movement led by Hon. Femi Onireti, Hon. Titilope Gbadanosi, and Hon. Wale Oladiti, the Market Youth Leader and other stakeholders at the movement’s state secretariat in Oyo State.
The meeting brought together market youth representatives and stakeholders to discuss ways of deepening grassroots engagement and expanding the movement’s support base across the state.
Speaking during the meeting, the market youth leaders pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appointment of Adetunji is expected to further strengthen the City Boy Movement’s engagement with market youths across Oyo State, particularly through coordinated grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagement.
With his new role, Adetunji is expected to lead efforts to bring market youths into a more coordinated political structure while strengthening the movement’s presence in markets and communities across the state.
The development is seen by the movement as part of its broader strategy to consolidate grassroots support and mobilise young voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
The City Boy Movement Director, Hon. Femi Onireti also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its mobilisation network across Oyo State and engaging different youth groups and community stakeholders in support of its political objectives.
