Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement, unveiling the Reset Nigeria Movement and a dedicated campaign website to drive nationwide mobilisation.
The governor unveiled the official platform, Seyi Makinde presidential campaign website, as the central hub for the movement’s vision, policy engagement, volunteer registration and grassroots participation across the country and the diaspora.
Speaking on his presidential ambition, held at the popular Mapo Hall, on Thursday, Makinde said Nigeria needs competent and accountable leadership capable of rebuilding public trust, strengthening institutions and delivering measurable progress for all citizens.
Makinde’s declaration was witnessed by party leaders, including, Osun State former governor Olagusoye Oyinlola, professionals, youth groups and supporters are expected to gather as nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election begins.
Makinde alluded “Nigeria cannot continue with politics as usual. This is the time to reset our nation, rebuild public trust, strengthen institutions, and create a system that works for all Nigerians”.
According to him, the Reset Nigeria agenda is focused on economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, power sector reforms, security and institutional strengthening.
The campaign website, www.seyimakinde4president.com also features a Truth Hub to counter misinformation, alongside a Media Resource Centre containing official statements, campaign materials, photographs and biographical information for journalists and stakeholders.
Supporters of the governor have continued to point to his achievements in Oyo State, especially in infrastructure renewal, agribusiness expansion, fiscal discipline, education reforms and security improvement, as evidence of his capacity to lead national transformation.
Before joining politics, Makinde founded Makon Group Limited, bringing years of private sector experience into governance.
