The political landscape in Ibadan, Oyo State capital received a boost yesterday as Hon. Hon. Ishaq Morufat Ajibola, formally declared her intention to contest the Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajibola made the declaration at a well-attended gathering held at St. Cyprian Primary School, Padre, Ibadan, which drew party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the constituency.
The aspirant, popularly known as “Bibire Ko Se Fowora,” hails from Temidire Ward 06 in Ibadan North East Local Government Area, received endorsements and goodwill message from prominent figures within the All Progressives Congress structure in the state.
Dignitaries present at the event included the APC Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Mojeed Delesolu; a State Executive member, Hon. Alaga Muse; Ibadan North East party leader, Prince Gbade Lana; as well as other party stalwarts, local government executives, ward chairmen, and leaders of youth and women groups.
In her declaration speech, Ajibola outlined her vision for the constituency, anchored on equity, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.
She stressed the need for balanced representation between Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East, noting that effective leadership must refle the interests of all constituent parts.
According to her, “the constituency belongs to both local governments, and no section should feel marginalised.”
Ajibola also pledged to prioritise youth and women empowerment through policies aimed at job creation and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.
She further assured constituents of her commitment to attracting federal presence and facilitating infrastructural development, particularly in road construction, healthcare delivery, and access to quality education across key areas of the constituency.
Reaffirming her guiding principle, “Bibire Ko Se Fowora,” she emphasised her dedication to integrity, accountability, and grassroots-oriented leadership.
The aspirant also called for unity within the APC, pledging to work closely with party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
