Senator Buhari AbdulFatai Omotayo on Wednesday flagged off the medical centre of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho and charged newly admitted students of the institution to remain focused and committed to academic excellence.
The lawmaker, who represents Oyo North Senatorial District, spoke during the matriculation ceremony of the university held in Okeho, Oyo State, where a fresh batch of students were formally admitted into various academic programmes.
Addressing the students, Buhari urged them to take their studies seriously and uphold discipline, noting that the opportunity to gain higher education comes with responsibility.
Shortly after the ceremony, the senator proceeded to commission the FUNATO Medical Centre, a facility established to provide accessible healthcare services for students, staff, and residents of the host community.
Buhari noted that the establishment of the medical centre aligns with efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery alongside educational development in the region.
He recalled that prior to the establishment of FUNATO, he facilitated the construction of five modern healthcare centres across Oyo North, describing the projects as part of a broader commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents.
The senator, known for his interventions in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, has continued to attract developmental projects to communities within the district.
