Shola Ladoja has clarified his earlier comments regarding the visit of the Debo Ogundoyin to his father, Rashidi Ladoja, stating that his remarks were misinterpreted.
In a telephone interview with Oyomind, Shola Ladoja explained that his statement about sending “receipt of our conversation” was not intended as a threat or an attempt to escalate political tensions, but rather a figurative expression to emphasize that there was documented clarity on what transpired during the meeting.
He maintained that the Speaker’s visit to the Olubadan was strictly for consultation and to seek royal blessings, dismissing claims that the meeting was linked to any political maneuvering or internal crisis within the Oyo State political structure.
Ladoja further stressed that his father, as a revered traditional ruler, remains neutral and committed to the peace and unity of Ibadanland, and should not be drawn into partisan controversies.
He urged political actors and the public to refrain from misrepresenting statements or dragging the Olubadan institution into unnecessary political narratives.
The clarification comes amid heightened political speculation in Oyo State over alleged divisions within the state legislature and broader power dynamics ahead of future electoral contests.
