“Wèrè la fi má wo wèrè”: Makinde Issues Strong Warning Against Any Attempt to Rig 2027 Election in Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde has cautioned political actors against any attempt to interfere with the 2027 elections in Oyo State, declaring that the state will resist every form of manipulation.

He made the remark during the presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill at the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Speaking firmly, the Governor said the people of Oyo State are fully aware of their political direction and will not allow external forces to distort their mandate.

He expressed confidence in the political consciousness of residents, noting that the state has maintained a tradition of choosing its leaders without undue influence.

Quoting a popular expression, he said, “Wèrè la fi má wo wèrè,” stressing that the government is prepared for anyone who may attempt to tamper with the electoral process.

Governor Makinde presented a budget of N891 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, describing it as a financial plan aimed at economic expansion, infrastructure growth, and continued development across key sectors.
