Reps Member, Odidiomo Bags Prestigious NCS Fellowship

The Nigeria Computer Society has conferred its Professional Fellowship Award on Hon Adedeji Dhikirulahi Stanley Olajide, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, at the 2025 National Information Technology Merit Awards held at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, currently chairs the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity. The Society described him as a national figure whose work in digital policy, governance and innovation has strengthened Nigeria’s technology landscape.

According to the NCS, the fellowship is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated distinction and long-standing commitment to the computing profession. In a formal citation, the Society stated that the award recognises “distinguished service, professional excellence and sustained commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s ICT sector.”

Born in Ibadan on 2 October 1964, Olajide is a two-term member of the House of Representatives. He earned a degree in Management and Information Technology from Rutgers University in the United States in 1994, beginning a technology career that later spanned Qwest Communications, Freddie Mac, Wells Fargo, Invitrogen Corporation and Fannie Mae. His roles covered enterprise systems architecture, cybersecurity design, high-performance computing frameworks and large-scale data operations across several US states.

His background in enterprise technology has shaped his work in parliament, where he has supported digital governance reforms, cybersecurity interventions and youth-focused innovation policies.

Speaking at the event, the NCS described Odidiomo as “a professional whose contributions continue to advance national development through technology,” adding that the Society was pleased to admit him into its fellowship class for 2025.

The award formed part of this year’s National Information Technology Merit Awards, which gathered practitioners, regulators and industry leaders for an evening dedicated to recognising outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s digital sector.
