Oyo state government through the Ministry of Environment, is commemorating World Clean Up Day in grand style this year.
World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem.
This year’s event takes place on Friday 20 September following its addition to the UN Calendar of International Days!
The Oyo State Ministry of Environment is having a two-day event to commemorate World Clean Up Day 2024.
The first day is a stakeholder engagement and public enlightenment event. This is slated to happen 9:00 am on Friday, 20th September at the House of Chief, Secretariat Ibadan.
The second day is a community clean-up exercise. This is also slated for Saturday, 21st September 2024.
The cleanup exercise starts from Dugbe to Mokola (the assemble point is Cocoa House) at 7:30 am.
Commemorating world clean up day is in line with Oyo state’s commitment to a clean and sustainable environment.
