It’s exactly a year that our Federal lawmakers in Oyo State got sworn into the green chamber.

It is has been a year full of so many hurdles owing to the unexpected coronavirus pandemic that hit the world in a way that got everyone panic. Even at that, some of them still didn’t fail to give their best.

It is enough to say that irrespective of the situation these lawmakers find themselves, the act of ‘Omoluabi’ that individual possesses will always be revealed.

In Oyo State, the only female federal lawmaker at the 9th Assembly ably led by Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon. Tolu Akande Sadipe, representing Oluyole Federal Constituency is the first-ever female to serve the people of Oluyole at the National Assembly.

Over the past 365 days, she had done a great job, within short period of time, she had left an indelible mark that outweighed previous representatives in Oluyole Federal Constituency.

Hon. Tolu Akande Sadipe who is the Chairperson, Committee on Diaspora, has worked diligently in making sure the interests of our people are not jeopardized outside the country. She ensured proper care for all unlawful immigrants. Also, child trafficking in Nigeria has been curtailed to some extent with promises to eradicate it finally in due time.

In the space of a year, Hon. Tolu Akande Sadipe has done well in giving the people of Oluyole laudable development coupled with good projects that couldn’t be tasted for so many years.

Hence, the need to mention some of her achievements so far as all her projects are beyond what can be contained in this piece.

Below are some of her achievements so far in office;

❖ Spearheading the empowerment of over 500 women and youths in various competencies.

❖ Providing monthly welfare support for constituents.

Furthermore, in one of her numerous attempts to empower her constituents since she assumed office, Hon. Tolulope Sadipe organized a Development Training Programme on Entrepreneurship.

This training, which was organized in conjunction with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) had over 200 participants in attendance with each of them receiving a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the training.

Despite paying the registration fee for some of her constituents to write the WAEC examination, Hon. Tolulope Sadipe also distributed study materials to ensure students in her constituency are well prepared for the examination.

Hon. Sadipe also organized free holiday coaching classes for Senior Secondary School students in her constituency. These free classes held at four different schools in the constituency.

As part of efforts to fulfill her electoral promise too, among six other mandates, improve education, Hon. Tolulupe Sadipe, in her first year in office, launched an N25 million scholarship scheme. The 4-year full Scholarship was awarded to 25 undergraduates, who would receive N100,000 annually, in the constituency. To ensure transparency and effectiveness, the fund of each beneficiary would be paid to the school directly.

On the physical project, Hon Sadipe flagged off the construction of many classrooms in Oluyole Federal Constituency, a project which has been found missing for many years before she broke the jinx. She has done well in Education, Health, Agriculture, and stomach infrastructure for the people of Oluyole.

All these have proved a type of representation the people of Oluyole have been clamoring for in the past years before our prayer was answered 365 days back.

Hon. Tolu Akande Sadipe, a woman full of charisma, integrity, and feelings of motherhood, has won our hearts in representing us better at the green chamber beyond this moment, will just like Oliver twist, the good people of Oluyole Federal Constituency still want more because we know she will do more.
