Professor Oyesoji Aremu of the University of Ibadan has been appointed by the Governing Council of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
This is contained in a letter signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Rev. Cannon S.B. Oladimeji.
Aremu, a popular security scholar and analyst is a lecturer in the Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies of the premier university.
The professor has held many academic leadership roles.
He won the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship as a Lecturer Grade I between 2007 and 2008 and was a visiting Commonwealth Fellow at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of many professional associations and bodies in Nigeria and abroad.
Prof. Aremu was the acting Director, Centre for Open Distance and eLearning, Osun State University. He is a Member, University of Ilesa Review Committee, March to May, 2023, Chairman, Osun State Education Summit, July to September, 2023; and former Director, Distance Learning Centre, UI.
He was also a Visiting Professor, Open, Distance, and eLearning, at Osun State University, Osogbo.
Professor Oyesoji is expected to resume on April 2, 2024.
