Sequel to an online advert that put assets and landed property of the University of Ibadan for sale, the management of the institution has dissociated itself from the purported sale.
In a statement titled ‘Sale of the University of Ibadan: Caveat Emptor’, the management and the governing council debunked advert saying ‘the University have not caused any such advert to be put out’.
The statement reads thus:
SALE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN: CAVEAT EMPTOR
The Management of the University of Ibadan has expressed dismay at an online sale advert announcing the sale of the property, assets, and land of the University of Ibadan.
The Management and the Governing Council of the University have not caused any such advert to be put out.
Members of the public, especially the international community, are advised not to allow themselves to be swindled.
The University of Ibadan, its assets, and landed property are not up for sale.
Meanwhile, the Department of State Services has been notified and requested to bring the supposed agents to book.
