Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede has today, welcome the National Youth Service Corps Coordinator for Oyo State, Mr. Odoba Abel Oche after the recent deployment of the former Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe.
Fakorede who announced that, “Mr. Abel was at my office alongside some other Directors from NYSC, Oyo State Secretariat to seek healthy collaboration with the ministry”.
He continued, “During the interactive session, the Coordinator sought the support of the State Government in providing adequate welfare for Corp Members at the camp”.
The new State Coordinator further commended the Pace Setter State Government for “the increment of Corp Members allowance from N5000 to N15,000 and steady payment of Corp Members allowances”.
While also expressing his displeasure, the Coordinator explained the poor welfare conditions some Corp Members who were deployed to Private Schools always faced.
Fakorede, in his defence said, “it is ignominious that some private school owners are paying less than N10,000 upward and without necessary standards and infrastructures, these schools should be delisted.
As a sign of long term partnership, the State Coordinator presented the Commissioner NYSC souvenir, which included NYSC acts and magazines.
