The University of Ibadan and Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited have signed an agreement to establish an Infinix Club in the University.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding held today in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, FAS, mni.

Professor Adebowale said he was very happy that the MOU is targeted at the youths, the leaders of tomorrow. He noted that the interest of Carlcare in the University of Ibadan was not misplaced given that UI is the best in Nigeria, 6th in Africa and among the best 1000 universities from all over the world.

He however, urged that the MOU must be very active to ensure that maximum benefits are derived.

The agreement was for the establishment of a mutually beneficial relationship through a plethora of programmes, fora, processes, platforms and sharing of innovative ideas.

The agreement seeks to enhance the academic, management, entrepreneurial, social and technical skills of the students to increase their global competitiveness.

 

Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited is a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings and its Infinix brand spirit aims at empowering the youths to challenge the norms and stand out from the crowd all around the world.

A social club to be known as Infinix Club will be established within the University to mobilize active participation of UI students in technology, innovation and entrepreneurial development.
The club shall also provide access to job and internship opportunities for UI students at Transsion subsidiaries in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

The University of Ibadan is expected to provide technical and manpower supports; ensure the registration of the Infinix Club on the campus as well as provide a workable space with basic amenities.

Carlcare shall utilize its corporate image and brands to design, develop and promote various skill development programmes and initiatives to meet the objectives of the MOU.
It shall offer scholarships and funding opportunities to active members of the Infinix Club as well as offer employment opportunities to active and dedicated members who graduate with exceptional grades.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by top Management staff and officers of both organisations.
