The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate for Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO) has congratulated the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
Bayo Lawal got sworn in as Oyo Deputy Governor after the Oyo State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin had impeached the then incumbent, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan.
Olaniyan, according to the lawmakers was found guilty of some charges pressed against him before the lawmakers which were initially transferred to a panel.
SMATO, in a congratulatory message released on behalf of his constituents, described the new deputy governor as one of the most prominent politicians in Oyo State.
As a former Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, also as the immediate past Chairman of the State Housing Cooperation, SMATO expressed that Lawal was an exemplary public servant who made impossibility possible, and ever since then, he has proven himself to be a leader of high ethics and morality.
“You are a humble humanitarian who always shows no hesitation in demonstrating his love for the cause of humanity without expecting a song of praise or validation from anyone, therefore we are proud to hold him as someone worthy of emulation.”
SMATO equally commended the executive governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for counting Barrister Bayo Lawal worthy of the important but sensitive position and that he has the belief that the new deputy governor will raise the bar of governance in accordance with the governor’s plans.
