As the political intrigues for the 2023 general elections begin to unravel, the Oyo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has released details for aspirants interested in flying the party’s flag at various level.
In a statement sighted by OYOMIND, the party announced that all aspirants must pay the State Admin charges, which vary depending on their political aspirations.
“This is to inform all our aspirants that the Oyo State Chapter of PDP has officially ratified and approved the below amount for State Admin Charges for all aspirants who are seeking to run on our platform in Oyo State,” the statement read in part.
However, a review of the account details for the payment of the charges by this newspaper indicated that it is not an official account of the state chapter of the party, rather it belongs to two individuals, Adeleke Wasiu and Ogungbenro Abiona.
The charges, according to the statement, are as follows;
- Serving Members of the State House of Assembly – 500,000
- Other Assembly Aspirants – 100,000
- Serving House of Reps Members – 1,000,000
- Other House of Representatives Aspirants – 250,000
- Serving Member of the Senate – 1,500,000
- Other Senatorial Aspirants – 1,000,000
“After the payment, you’re required to bring the teller to the State Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan so that you can collect your receipts.
“Kindly note that without the payment of the State Charges, you will not be screened.”
