The President, Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, QS Olayemi Shonubi has pledged the support of the institute to the new University of Ibadan administration in ensuring success in all areas possible.
He stated this while the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, FAS, mni, received members of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors on Monday, 07 March, 2022 on a courtesy visit to his office.
QS Shonubi, assured the VC of their willingness to give the needed professional support, and ensure that a Quantity Survey Department in the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management stands firm.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale welcomed all possible assistance from the body and assured the members of the commitment of the management to building the new department.
He explained that the take-off of the Department was being hampered by the Federal Government’s embargo on recruitment adding that as soon as the embargo was lifted the Department will take-off.
Other members of the visiting team were QS Bamidele Mafimidiwo, Chairman, Oyo; QS Stephen Akintunde, Sec. Marketing & Corporate Affairs; QS (Prof.) Olubola Babalola, Fellow; QS Bolaji Sotunde, Sec. International Affairs; QS Olufisayo Ogunjimi; QS Oladoye Abiola; QS Ayo Siyanbola; Mr. Akwa Etiene and Ms. Gloria Ifiorah. Others were from Oyo State Chapter: QS Kolawole Fadayomi, QS (Dr.) Tunde Adesiyan, QS Eghenure Francis, QS Hakeem Adebiyi, QS Abiodun Oyeleke and QS Feyisetan Leo-Olagbayi.
Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Aderonke M. Baiyeroju; Dean, Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Prof. W.B.
