In preparation for the resumption of academic activities in the University of Ibadan, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale accompanied by the Dean of Students, Professor I.A. Abiona embarked on an inspection tour of halls of residence on campus.

This is coming barely a few days after the Senate of the University of Ibadan at a special meeting held on Monday 17 October 2022 decided that academic activities should resume.

OYOMIND earlier reported that the University of Ibadan senate ordered that academic activities should resume and that halls of residence are open from Sunday 23 October 2022.

The university inspection team went round the Halls to identify those things that needed to be put in place to make the Halls habitable and comfortable after being locked up for the last seven months.

It would also be recalled that the students were directed to vacate the Halls on 17 March 2022 following an extension of the national strike action embarked upon by ASUU.

Meanwhile, on behalf of Council and Senate of the University, the Registrar, Mrs Olubunmi O. Faluyi, had earlier wished the students journey mercies as they return to the campus.
