EndSARS: Makinde Calls for Calm Over Death of Protester, Says Protest is a Result of Systemic Failure

Mr. Afeez Bolaji Repete, National Deputy Youth Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has exposed the locations where CACOVID palliatives are being stored in Oyo state.

He made this known via his social media pages in the late hours of Friday, calling on the people of the state to visit the respective locations where the palliatives received by the state government from CACOVID, are being locked up.

“Oyo State people should go to these locations inside secretariat for their palliatives; Oyo state printing press (enter through the gate that’s opposite ministry of justice), Shops in front of Sterling bank inside secretariat, and Pool office (All the locked up shops there),” he posted.

According to him, that was his little service to the good people of Oyo state.

He further called on some media platforms in the state saying, “I want to dare the statement government to take Obilo, Mayor Isaac Brown, Oyo insight, Oyo Mind, Oyo trailblazers, Megaicon and other bloggers to where I mentioned by 8am tomorrow, if nothing is there, I should be prosecuted.”

While replying to a comment under the post, he reiterated, “The volume is too much for them to do between now and tomorrow morning. Moreover, if anything leaves that secretariat tonight, I’m going to provide video evidence”

On his Twitter page, he accused the Oyo state government of not admitting and making public the receipt of the palliatives from CACOVID.

“In all honesty, I will never incite anyone against the government. Check my records very and you will understand better. But, it is so wrong for Oyo state to have lied to the public that the state didn’t get palliative items from CACOVID,” he tweeted.

In response to the allegation, the Chief Press Secretary to Engr. Seyi Makinde, Taiwo Adisa acknowledged to the fact that the state government received the palliatives but yet to get half of what was promised by CACOVID. He also noted that the distribution of the palliatives was delayed by the #EndSars protests.

“No one will tell you CACOVID didn’t support the state. CACOVID promised some truckloads of palliatives but less than half have been received. Despite that, Oyo kickstarted the 5th leg of palliative, only slowed down by #EndSars protests,” he said.

OYOMIND recalls that since the discovery of a large amount of CACOVID palliatives in a warehouse in Lagos state, which have been looted by hoodlums and residents of the area, more warehouses filled with such palliatives are being exposed in other states with residents attempting to loot and empty the warehouses.

Many have lamented that if government could keep the palliatives meant for them away from them, and they could locate them themselves, hence, the justification for the loots being experienced in different states.
