The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) has lamented over the actions of some lawmakers representing the Ibarapa constituency area of Oyo state.

“The Bane of our Era” on Thursday, 7th January 2021.
The foundation accused who alleged that it facilitated logistics of the National Identity Management (NIMC) registration centre to the area lamented that some politicians who were alleged to be after political gains are trying to frustrate its effort.
The letter read: “It is very disheartening that those we gave our mandates and supports to make our socioeconomic matters accomplished are the ones making life more uncomfortable for the citizens. What an irony!
Now to the point: earlier today, we received a call from the State Coordinator of NIMC regarding a complaint from a serving member of the House of Representatives representing some of our beloved communities. The State coordinator was chastised for authorizing the transportation of computers used for the enrollment from one town to another.
You may recall that the management of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation last year took it upon itself to ensure that the registration point is brought close to our people across Ibarapa. We facilitated logistics and provided incentives including accommodation for the officials, and hitch-freehieved hitch free enrollment by moving the exercise from one community to the other.
The officials are currently working in LANLATE, having had smooth registration exercise in all the other six communities making up Ibarapa. Over 8,000 people have registered during this exercise.
It is an affront to decency and right thinking for someone who was voted to pursue the interest of his constituents to make himself an enemy of the people. Why should a person representing Ibarapa antagonize this logical move? How on earth would he recommend that the officials should just sit back in Igboora while our people convey themselves from Igangan, Tapa, Ayete, Idere Eruwa and Lanlate to Igboora to face queues of tired citizens waiting to be enrolled? Is that the meaning of proper representation? No wonder our constituency lacks the desired development.
Recently, Professor Adeolu Akande made efforts at calling the NIMC DG to improve and add more systems to each enrollment centre in Oke-Ogun. Instead, our man would rather complain that we are moving the only available computer (which was graciously provided by the State NIMC office since the one formerly in Igboora was bad) around.
On behalf of all concerned inhabitants of Ibarapa, we ask the person in question to please prioritize our people over small political gains. This effort is for our people. It is not political. The registration for National Identity Number is not party registration, neither is it for voter’s card.
To all indigenes and residents of Ibarapa, thank you for your support all this while. Together, we will move our fatherland forward.”
