The governing council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, formerly known as Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa held a three-day council meeting from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th August 2020.
On the first day, the Acting Principal Officers led by Mr. Falola Sikiru took the Governing Council members led by Dr. Samuel Ogunwale Ogundiran round the four corners of the institution for an on-the-spot assessment of the state of infrastructural facilities on ground to aid its plan for the accreditation of the programmes that have lapsed.
The problem which is more prominent with engineering programmes, have students who graduated from the institution in 2017 but are yet to be mobilized for their NYSC exercise till date.
Mr. Falola further led the Council members to all departments in the four faculties in the institution where they took records of the available teaching and learning resources in comparison with NBTE requirements to know the shortfalls in preparation for the urgent planned accreditation.
The Council Chairman and his team, together with the institution’s Staff unions and Student Union, rubbed minds together to plan for immediate solutions to the lingering problem. While this exercise ended at around 7 pm, yet it was not completed.
On Thursday, 13th which happens to be the second day of the meeting had a real business meeting conducted. The council in a bid to accelerate the urgent and enormous works on ground proceeded with the constitution of all statutory committees in accordance with its provisions in the Edict which established the institution.
The Council later moved on to discuss extensively on the recommendations as contained in the ”White Paper Report” of the Visitation Panel set up by the present administration in the state in June 2019 as regards the ongoing crises in the institution then. Actions were taken on all the recommendations accordingly.
Other management issues including staffs and students welfare were discussed where they propose staff development programmes to enhance high level of productivity.
Pending promotions that have been on halt since mid-2019 due were attended and beneficiaries can now enjoy the necessary benefits attached to it.
