The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede has been shortlisted for the One Young World (OYW) Awards as Politician of the year.
Fakorede, is the only Nigerian and the only male African shortlisted for the Award that will be held in Manchester, United Kingdom in September 2022.
While speaking on the Award with OYOMIND, he said, “I am honoured to announce that I have been included in the shortlist for One Young World Politician of the Year Award 2022.
“This award was established to help counter the low levels of political engagement and increased disillusionment with political processes that young people are experiencing across the world, this award celebrates the world’s leading young politicians who have infiltrated the old guard of politics.
“I am delighted to be nominated together with these incredible politicians who are having a positive global impact and inspiring others with their leadership”.
He however dedicated the awards shortlisting as another win for Africa, stating that i is an honor to serve the good people of Oyo State, Nigeria and that he is grateful for the unflinching confidence and faith entrusted in him by the Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE.
“To my Wife, @ChiomaFakorede who also doubles as my manager on international engagements — Thank you, doing life with you has made the journey seamless” he said.
He further Congratulated every other well-meaning politician that has been recognized and shortlisted from across the World.
