Oyo State House of Assembly lawmakers ably led by Rt. Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin has extended the tenure of all the local government and local council development areas chairmen in the state for another period of six months.
The chairmen, whose six months tenure expired on June 18, would remain in office till December 17, 2020.
The extension was confirmed by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, during the house plenary on Friday.
Earlier before the extension, Hon. Ademola Popoola, Chairman House Committee on Local government matters had read a comprehensive report on financial activities of the council heads in the last six months and urged the assembly to approve the request, as the tenure of the chairmen had expired on June 18, 2020.
