Professor Kayode Adebowale of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science will assume office today, 1st November 2021 as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan.
In the 73rd year of existence of the premier varsity, Adebowale has become the first Ibadan born to occupy such position.
OYOMIND recalls that Adebowale, on 14th October, 2021 defeated his colleagues in a keenly contested election.
Amongst his counterparts who jostled for the Vice Chancellorship position are the former Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ekanola of the Department of Philosophy, Former Deputy Vice-Chancellor Aderinto of the department of Sociology among others.
Adebowale tenures end October 31st, 2026.
