High Court Convicts 13 Internet Fraudsters in Ibadan

Not less than 13 young nigerians who are internet fraudsters have been convicted by the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan.

The cybercriminals were convicted by Justices Olusola Adetujoye and Bayo Taiwo in a charge preferred on them by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a statement released by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, on Tuesday, said that 12 of the convicts were prosecuted before Justice Adetujoye on separate counts before Justice Taiwo.

He further stated that the convictions were secured by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the commission on Thursday, October 27, 2022, and Friday, October 28, 2022, respectively.

The names of the convicts are “Azeez Usman Olatunji, Tofunmi Segun Oyebade, Yusuf Akorede Toheeb Abiodun, Elegbede Abiodun Timileyin, Odewumi Toheeb Olamilekan, Abiodun Adam Kolawole, Uthman Olajire Olamilekan, Ridwan Oladimeji Oluwatobi, Showemimo Akeem Abiodun, Saliu Ibrahim Akanji, Owie Aisosa Kelvin, Ugwu Simon Ogbonna and Olaoye James.”
