Babayemi expressed delight over the development, highlighting FUNATO’s vision to be a centre of excellence blending Agriculture and Technology. The university plans to offer a broad spectrum of science, technology, and innovation-driven programmes, encompassing all science disciplines and a range of engineering courses.

FUNATO’s academic structure comprises 11 proposed Colleges housing 68 academic programmes, covering areas such as Agricultural Sciences, Renewable Natural Resources, Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Human Ecology, Environmental and Earth Sciences, and Management and Innovation Studies.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is scheduled to conduct a resource verification visit, after which the approved number of initial programmes will be announced.

The FUNATO Planning Committee, led by Mr. Moyo Jacob Ajekiigbe, OFR, is working diligently to ready the university’s temporary site. Structural works are expected to be completed by October 10, showcasing the commitment and dedication behind the institution.

Prof. Babayemi emphasized that FUNATO aims to redefine science, agriculture, and technology education in Nigeria, fostering innovation and empowering young minds to drive national development. “The future begins at FUNATO,” the Vice Chancellor concluded, inviting stakeholders to stay tuned as the university moves towards its official launch.
