The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba Egbe) Has Congratulated Nigerians and Also Extolled The Exceptional Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde As He Marks Democracy Day.

In a press release signed by his Media and Publicity, Mr. Bodija Akinwale in Ibadan, the state capital. The council chairman praised the Governor for giving the state what he described as “purposeful leadership in the past years”, adding that the government has provided dividends of democracy to the masses.

He urged the people of Oyo State to use the occasion to pursue and promote issues that cement the progress and development of the state without chaos and destructive politics.

“Our democracy has grown by leaps and bounds in the past years, and Nigeria and Oyo deserve a pat on the back.

“This occasion, therefore, calls for a re-dedication of ourselves to pursuing those ideals that promote love, togetherness, and national co-existence,’’ it said.

In other news, the local government chairman has embarked on a massive road and potholes rehabilitation within the council area.

On our on-spot assessment by our correspondent, men were seen working on roads within the bodija market.

The chairman’s aide added that the administration was committed to changing the narrative by embarking on aggressive road rehabilitation on major urban roads.

He said that several roads within the local government had been marked out for the rehabilitation, assuring the public that potholes on the roads would soon become a thing of history.

He said “Some of the roads which were done by the previous administration which we inherited have all failed, so we are intervening on them gradually, and we are taking them one street at a time.

In a chat with the chairman’s side, he said ”By the end of the rainy season, we shall do asphalt work on the rehabilitated roads, but for now, it is stone base we are using to do the interventions.

“We urge residents to be patient with the government in case they see roads with potholes they should not worry because we are going to rehabilitate all the failed portions of our urban roads.

“By the end of this administration, there will not be any pot-holes on any major road in the local government.
