The Alliance of Yoruba Youths Group has lauded the efforts of the Yoruba Activist, Chief Sunday Igboho on his campaign against insecurity, most especially on the recent attacks of the herdsmen in the South West region of the state.
In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday, and signed by the Chairman of Alliance of Yoruba Youths Council Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Adedokun Sunday Harshasha, the group said the campaign has reinstated partial nolmacy to the security level of the region and hopefully things will be back to normal.
Adedokun said: “Not until Sunday Igboho started his campaign against insecurity that the government tends to show concern, for some months now they have turn deaf hear to the happenings in the South Western part of the country most especially the evil perpetrations by the Fulani herdsmen. But immediately Igboho stood to fight for us, the government has been looking for all means to silence him.”
“We want to made this clear to our government at all levels to desist from any permutation to arrest Sunday Igboho. If you can’t protect us, you should not threaten our agitators and heroes fighting on our behalf” he said.
“The government should therefore desist from any form of arrest against our kinsmen, Sunday Igboho. An attempt to do that will escalate the level of insecurity. It will be better if the government can swallow the ego and promote unity and peace in the nation by calling on the activist for dialogue. Security of lives and properties is a fundamental duty of our government. Fulani herdsmen are not arrested by the government, why should it be our hero who is only fighting for us” he added.
