A former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency from 2015-2019, Hon Dapo Lam-Adesina, has described the controversies that trailed the October 30 State Congress of the All Progressives Congress at Liberty Stadium as unnecessary saying the smartest faction only beat others to their game.

He noted that all the gladiators in the party took part in the game of wit that played out before the Congress adding that he expected no one to raise an eyebrow when eventually they lost out.

He also expressed disappointment at the failure of the All Progressives Congress led federal government to effect the ‘change’ the party promised Nigerians before the 2015 general elections.

Dapo who is a former Commissioner in the late Ajimobi led government expressed his disillusionment on a radio programme Bottom Line on IBR 92- anchored by Aanuoluwapo Omorinde monitored by

He noted that it is about time the truth be told saying that the APC at the centre has failed the youths.

Speaking on the crisis rocking the Oyo State chapter of the party, he noted that the party is polarized, adding that the party lacks platform and that some people are hell bent in destroying the platform.

He advised party gladiators to sheathe their swords and form a formidable platform that will dislodge the ruling PDP in the state.

Speaking on hisl relationship with Senator Teslim Folarin, Dapo Lam revealed that the former Senate Leader supported his House of Representatives ambition in 2011 though the duo were in different parties then. His words:

“Senator Folarin supported my ambition, he calls me like he calls his son. He talks to me regularly. While I was in African Democratic Congress, he would call me, talk to me and persuaded me to return to the APC.”

“His wife calls me too, she is like my sister, whenever she sees me, she would ask us to talk. Folarin has the edge at what he does, He hasn’t told me about his gubernatorial ambition and when he does, if I compare him with other contenders, if he what it takes, I will pitch my tent with him and support his ambition.

” The fact that I was at Liberty Stadium for our party’s state congress doesn’t mean that I identify with a particular group.

He however vowed that the youths in the party will resist alll attempts to destroy it.
