Ibadan born renowned technocrat and politician, Ayodeji Ismail Karim who was a leading aspirant for Oyo state gubernatorial election 2019 bids former governor of Oyo state Otunba Christopher Alao Akala final farewell.
Former Governor, Alao Akala died on Wednesday, 12th January 2022.
Ayodeji Karim described the former governor as a core democrat and a political centrifugal force always connecting the government and its machinery with the grassroots.
He writes “Governor Akala’s style of governance was such a beauty to democracy and modern governance which earned him a famous title Oyato Governor and also built him an army of core loyalists outside the office.
“Despite the political travails and outcome of 2019 election, he was a father to all of us who vied for the same office alongside him before and he remained a pillar of support to our party the All Progressives Congress untill his death”.
He concluded by sympathizing with the immediate family of the deceased and commiserating with the government and citizens of Oyo state during this mourning period, May his Soul Rest in Peace.
