The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation of Oyo State has recorded success in its quest to ensure hitch-free and convenient National Identity Number registration for the indigenes of Ibarapa in Oyo state.
This was made known in the periodic newsletter of the foundation dated March 22, 2020.
According to the foundation, the request for the National Identity Management Commission centres in Eruwa, Idere, Igangan and Ayete is to ease the stress the people go through travelling to Igboora from the other six towns in Ibarapa.
The newsletter read in part: “We also believe that this would drastically reduce congestion at the Igboora enrollment centre and reduce the potential spread of Covid-19. While all four centres were approved, enrollment will start tomorrow at Ayete and Ideas, with the others following next week.
“It will be recalled that our previous enrollment strategy, which involved the movement of the enrollment personnel and equipment from one town to the other, ended abruptly following some unexpected interference. We are happy that the incident has paved the way for a better, more convenient arrangement.
“While we anticipate the other two centres and enrollment officers, we encourage indigenes and residents who have not yet enrolled for their NIN to do so. The location for the enrollment will be the same locations used earlier when the team went round Ibarapa.”
